Entrance Hall

As you leave the library, a door leads to the entrance hall of the house. There is a high stone parapet surrounding a well 11 metres deep.

On the back wall there is a large canvas painting depicting The Battle of Lepanto an anonymous work from the Madrid school painted in the first third of the 17th century.

The staircase which starts from the entrance hall,is decorated with talavera tiles on the stair risers, leading to the rooms where the writer lived.
