Cervantes Routes

The Cervantes Routes Nueva ventana is one of the most complete virtual exhibitions about the writer to date. It formed part of the Government's initiative to commemorate the fourth centenary of Cervantes’ death, carried out in partnership with eight Spanish cultural institutions, including the House of Cervantes Museum, Acción Cultural Española and the Real Academia Española.

It is made up of 18 virtual exhibitions and five 360º walks through the most emblematic places in the life of Miguel de Cervantes, such as Cervantes' birthplace and the House of Cervantes in Valladolid, where the writer is thought to have written the first immortal lines of Don Quixote.

For the first time, the Google Cultural Institute has also developed an interactive story that allows viewers to access an exceptional selection of manuscripts, paintings and texts in a unique experience that brings the life, work and times of Cervantes back to life with the voice of the historian Alfredo Alvar Ezquerra, curator of this project and member of the Royal Academy of History.
