The Weight of Nostalgia

The modernisation and industrialisation of our country from the sixties on gave rise to a feeling of nostalgia towards the rural world and the popular. Nonetheless, although the Museo del Pueblo Español opened its doors in autumn of 1971, it closed them again just two years later. Its collections, after being moved around from warehouse to warehouse, ended up deposited in the building of the Museo Español de Arte Contemporáneo in 1987 (current location of the Museo del Traje).
