The Press Archive collections of the Museo del Traje. CIPE include the majority of the news that have appeared in the press since the decade of the 1920’s, when a group of intellectuals from the time, together with politicians such as the Count of Romanones and aristocrats such as the Duke of Alba and the Duchess of Parcent, organised the Regional and Historical Costume Exhibition in Madrid in 1925, collaborating with public and private entities from all over Spain to do so. Thus, the history of the institution is documented from said exhibition to the current-day Museo del Traje y Centro de Investigación del Patrimonio Etnológico (created in the year 2004) including its evolution through a succession of museums (the Museo del Traje; founded in 1927; the Museo del Pueblo Español, in 1934; and the Museo Nacional de Antropología, created in 1993). The press search engine of the Museo del Traje offers access to a total of 2660 pieces and over 2900 images, a very significant sample of the total collection and one that this publication will progressively increase.

DOMUS is an integrated documentation and museographic management system developed by the Ministry for Culture (Subdirección General de Museos Estatales and Subdirección General de Tecnologías y Sistemas de la Información). It is an IT application for the cataloguing and management of cultural assets kept by museums.

The catalogue information and digital images of the museum collections are shown to the public on this website, and already form part of the Digital Network of Museum Collections of Spain.
