This term’s programmes, adapted to the different education levels, are listed below:
The costumes in the glass display cabinets offer the narrative context for the stories that share the common theme of clothing and the world of textiles. Through this storytelling and the accompanying activities, the children’s attention is drawn to the objects displayed, using the story as an appropriate resource at this level, to bring them close to the collections. The activity ends with a workshop in which the children are given a practical approach to some of the aspects dealt with in the story.
The contents of this stage cover general themes relating to clothing, applicable to any historical period: the origin of textile fibres, fashion design, the relationship between this and other cultural expressions (art, folklore, etc.). There is practical experimentation with these contents in the different activities. The activities carried out with the Museo educator take place during the visit to the same. Autonomous visits, organised by the teacher, have two parts: the activities for the classroom and the activities done during the visit.
With clothing as the common thread, we explore the collection from different perspectives: history, literature, technology, etc. During the visit to the rooms, and through questions and exercises in deduction and reflection, students are encouraged to elaborate their own designs as they connect the objects of the collection with their previous knowledge of other different subjects
This programme focuses on promoting the participants’ interest and curiosity in the Museo collections and the customs and ways of life of bygone eras. The proposal offered by the Museo combines storytelling and practical workshops, promoting teamwork and a positive outlook.
