We at the Museo del Traje invite you to reflect on how we express ourselves through fashion and clothing, while also motivating design-related artistic creation. Given the ethnographic nature of the collections, we also support the anthropological study of the different popular cultures of the Spanish State.

From 2004 to 2014, two annual prizes were awarded to the analysis and documentation of the cultural diversity in Spain: the Popular Culture Photography Competition and the Marqués de Lozoya National Award.

In addition, from 2004 to 2007 the Golden Needle was also awarded. This prize granted institutional recognition to a creator whose work shone with a special meaning in the context of fashion.

At present, we have various school activities that also offer awards: a prize aimed at young people, Like What You See When You Wear What You Wear?, that turns the spotlight on expressing what clothing means and how differences can be marked through it.

And, finally, an activity for the primary school target,, which aims to teach students how to create their ideal outfit to foster creativity and design at a young age.
