Rectangular Piece with Irregular Borders

Rectangular piece with irregular borders. Floral, vegetal decoration is arranged on a deep red background. Three fragments of lining on the back. Brocatelle with two linen and yellow silk wefts and two warps in red and yellow silk. Weave composed of satin and serge. The decoration is made up of a big, meaty flower with fruit in the centre, with seeds, that is completed at the upper edges with two pomegranates and in the lower two with two big leaves.

The size of the motif on this fabric and the weight of the materials used indicate that it must have been an upholstery fabric.
