The Foundation collaborates closely with the Sorolla Museum by organising various activities and financing projects. The main fields of work of the Foundation are:
The Foundation finances the production of exhibitions based mainly on the Museum's own collection material, which allows it to broaden knowledge and further study the collections. These exhibitions have increased the number of visitors to the Sorolla Museum to 345.000 in 2023 on the occasion of Centenario Sorolla, and are among its main attractions, but they have also enabled Sorolla’s work to be seen by many outside the museum.
The Museum and the Fundación Museo Sorolla are constantly working to reinforce the quality and satisfaction of visitors, and the educational program is fundamental to this. For adults, the Foundation has organized a guided tour service that allows them to learn about the Museum from a guide specialized in the collections. For children and families, it offers workshop visits on non-teaching days and children's camps in summer.
Quarterly drawing and painting courses are also offered for students who wish to discover the painter's technique, improve their own skills, deepen their knowledge of pictorial language and develop their own personal artistic project.
The Foundation carries out important research work at the Museum by financing the cataloguing and reorganization of collections. Since 2001, thanks to this collaboration, the collections of old photographs, drawings by Sorolla and the author's correspondence have been catalogued. The Foundation also supports the museum's publication program, as well as activities such as conferences and scientific seminars.
