HISTORY AND AIMS

"Sefarad is no longer a memory but a home… a true meeting place for generations to come. Peace to all. Shalom” (words spoken by the King Emeritus Juan Carlos I, during a ceremony at the Synagogue of Madrid on 31 March 1992, in recognition of the fifth centenary of the expulsion of the Jews from Spain).

The Asociación de Amigos del Museo Sefardí [Association of Friends of the Museo Sefardí] was created in 1988 and is a non-profitmaking organization whose main aim is to support the Museo Sefardí.

The Association works closely with the Museo Sefardí in various areas, such as helping to increase the holdings of the museum’s collections or in the dissemination and promotion of participation in the cultural programme “100 años no es nada” [100 years is nothing], always with the aim of raising awareness of the Sephardic culture and legacy.

Free admission to the Museo Sefardí.

Invitations to the openings of temporary exhibitions, as well as the annual guided tour organized by the Museo Sefardí, together with one accompanying person, on the dates organized by the Museum, exclusively for Friends.

With your individual membership fee of €50 per year (from January to December of the current year) you will receive your AMIGO CARD and your FEAM CARD, which gives you free entrance to 35 museums and cultural entities, as well as discounts for hotels, restaurants, and shows.
