Services offered by the Museum

Permanent exhibition

The Museum offers visitors a complete permanent exhibition divided into three different areas:

  • Roman archaeological collection: This collection, located in the Museum's main building, is divided into 30 rooms organised over three floors.
  • Crypt: Located in the basement of the main building, it contains the ruins of a section of the San Lázaro water main, another section of the road that led to the city of Córdoba and an unusual neighbourhood outside the walls made up of dwellings, funeral buildings and industrial installations.
  • Visigothic Art Collection: This is located in the Church of Santa Clara.

Temporary exhibitions

As a complement to the permanent exhibition, the Museum arranges temporary exhibitions on an annual basis; these may be from the Museum's own collections or from collaborations with other institutions.

Rest areas

The Museum has a series of benches distributed throughout the reception areas, as well as in the different exhibition rooms.

WC

The Museum has a public toilet, suitable for use by people with motor disabilities or reduced mobility, as well as a changing room service.

Shop

The Museum has a retail shop located across from the entrance to the Museum's main building. In the Museum Shop, you can purchase museum guides, exhibition catalogues and other publications, as well as various items related to the Centre's collections. The Friends of the National Museum of Roman Art Association also offers some of the Association’s publications for sale online (http://www.amigosmuseoromano.es/Venta-de-Publicaciones /) and at the Association's office.

Library

Located on the first floor of the main building, the Library occupies 152 m2, with 25 reader’s stations and three computer terminals. Its collection specialises in Roman archaeology and can be consulted by sending a request to the Centre’s management. Access to this information will be provided in accordance with the guidelines and instructions of Museum officials.

The Archives

These contain documentary collections on the history of the Museum from its creation to the present day. It has 300 volumes which users can consult by sending a request to the Centre's management. Consultation of museum and documentary collections. The Museum will provide researchers with access to the collections upon request made to the Centre's management.

Booking a space

Spaces such as the temporary exhibition hall and the assembly hall can be made available for cultural activities (concerts, photographic, journalistic and cinematographic reports, theatrical performances, lecture series, meetings, etc.). For this purpose, the fees specified in current legislation must be paid. Cardio-protected space

The Museum has a defibrillator at the entrance.
