Calzada del patio del MNAR

The National Museum of Roman Art currently has two buildings: The main building, which holds the National Museum of Roman Art, and the Visigothic Art Collection

National Museum of Roman Art

C/ José Ramón Mélida, s/n. 06800 Mérida (Badajoz)

The Museum’s main building is located next to the site that includes the Roman Theatre and Amphitheatre.

If you want to come in your own vehicle, we recommend parking in the nearby public car park located nearby on Cabo Verde Street and walking the rest of the way to the Museum (500 metres approx.); from the car park, walk up to the roundabout at the end of the street and turn right to take the garden promenade up from Calle José Ramón Mélida.

To get there from the train station, you can take a taxi, but as it is not far, we recommend walking along Calle Cervantes, which connects with Calle José Ramón Mélida.

From the bus station, which is somewhat further away, we recommend using some form of transport, either a taxi or the bus. In the latter case, you should either take the C1 bus, get off at Avenida de Juan Carlos I and walk along Calle Octavio Augusto, or take the A1 line, get off directly at Avenida de Extremadura and walk down Calle Cabo Verde, which intersects with Calle José Ramón Mélida.

Visigothic Art Collection

C/ Santa Julia, 1. 06800 Mérida (Badajoz)

The Visigothic Art Collection is located next to the Plaza de España, right in the historic city centre.

If you plan to arrive by car, we recommend that you either use the public car park located on Calle Atarazanas in the surrounding area, or park along the Paseo de Roma (blue zone).

If you plan to walk from the train station, after taking Calle Cervantes, we recommend that you turn right at the end of the Street and go down to the Plaza de España along Calle Santa Eulalia.

From the bus station, we recommend either opting for a taxi or using public transport, in which case you should take bus line 8 and get off at the main station on Paseo de Roma, then walk to the Plaza de España.
