Numismatics

Some of the specimens in the Museum's coin collection were found in the city, but to complete one of the most outstanding series from the Roman Imperial period in Spain, most of them were acquired at public auctions. Special mention should be made of the pieces minted in the city of Mérida during its first years of existence, as Mérida was the most varied mint in terms of types in Iberia during this period.
