The Museum alone has more than 500 inscriptions from Roman times. As with sculpture, there are public and private inscriptions. Public inscriptions are perhaps the more striking, with references to the construction, ornamentation or renovation of different buildings in the city, especially those used for shows.

In the case of private inscriptions, most of them are instead linked to the funerary sphere, appearing on a wide variety of supports (tombstones, stelae, monuments, etc.) and sometimes even accompanied by certain images in relief, especially portraits of the deceased.
