Archive

The Museum's documentation is varied and complex; it includes administrative files, correspondence, photographic archives, inventories, old files, etc.

The main objective of the Museum's archive access service is to provide its documentation to users in person or remotely and to answer any queries they may have.

• [ Opening hours ] Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 2:30 pm / Appointment required.
• [ Access rules ] The archive is open to the public upon presentation of any document providing proof of identification: ID card, passport or residency permit, unless the records are inaccessible owing to specific conditions related to their conservation or technical handling.

Protection of personal information is regulated by the most recent legislation governing access: 'Access will be granted to documents containing personal information without need for consent from its owners provided that such information is previously disassociated in order to preserve the anonymity of the persons affected' (Royal Decree 1708/2011 of 18 November, Article 28.4)

Document photocopying

The reproduction of documents may be requested in person at the archive or by e-mailing us at documentacion.mnad@cultura.gob.es . The reproduction of documents is subject to the current laws governing intellectual property, protection of historic heritage and access.
