This epigraph in Latin characters appears on the main face of a block of grey limestone roughly shaped with a chisel. It is from the city of Cartagena and was recovered in the 19th century when the Castillo de la Concepción was demolished. This 13th-14th century building stood on the hill of the same name, on the site where a Roman temple dedicated to the god Asclepius had previously been.Salto de línea The inscription refers to a built structure, which could relate to the port facilities of the early imperial Carthago Nova.Salto de línea
