Non-school groups wishing to visit us and discover the MNA's collections in more depth can do so in two ways: on a guided tour, accompanied by one of our cultural volunteers, or freely, without a guide.
Although we adapt to each group's circumstances, the normal length of visits is approximately an hour and a quarter. During the tour, an introduction to the Museum and its history is given in the Museum Origins Room, after which you visit two more rooms, previously chosen by you, the visitors, from America, Africa, the Philippines, and Oriental Religions.
On the tours, a selection of distinguished objects from different cultures out of the museum's collections is presented in an entertaining way, encouraging group participation. These objects introduce different subjects and aspects like religion, homes, food, leisure, etc., highlighting the cultural wealth existing in the world.
Three simple steps to book your visit:
(Prior reservation a minimum of 15 days in advance, preferably more)
You can email your application to us at this address: visitas.mna@mecd.es , indicating the date and time of your visit, the name of your centre/organisation/institution, the number of people in the group and a contact name and telephone number.
Then we will contact you from the Museum, also by email, either to agree on a new date. If the one you requested is not available, or to confirm the proposal in your application. In the latter case, we will send you a form which you will need to fill in with your details and send back to the museum.
To finish, we will send you an email confirming your booking and the only thing left will be for you to have a pleasant experience on your tour around the museum on the day of your visit.
