Since March 2023, the digital project 'Survey of the Athenaeum: Spanish customs in 1901-1902' has been accessible to the public. The project provides access to the more than 17,000 records kept by the museum; the data they contain addresses matters such as food, agriculture and livestock, architecture, religious and civil position, social categorisation, entertainment, clothing, textiles, among others, collected across Spain in the early years of the 20th century.
In addition, the public can contribute to our knowledge of a particular custom or practice and provide personal documentation such as photographs or other data, Once reviewed by the museum, these will be made accessible to other users.
Researchers who so wish may still access copies of the Athenaeum Survey cards available at the library by making an appointment by emailing documentacion.mna@cultura.gob.es
