The primary purpose of the Museum of Altamira Library is to promote and publicise the knowledge of prehistory and heritage, the museum's specific areas of interest, and to make this knowledge available to all interested parties, researchers, students and museum personnel. To this end, it is endowed with a collection of specialised works on prehistory, Palaeolithic art, conservation and heritage, museology and cultural management.
Library resources may be consulted freely in the museum's reading room or in the collective catalogue of BIMUS (State Museum Libraries Network), which has an online library.

Colecciones temáticas
Las colecciones temáticas de este espacio se han conformado con el fin de facilitar recomendaciones de libros y artículos de nuestro fondo bibliográfico que abarcan materias especializadas y áreas de conocimiento del Museo de Altamira.
Con el objetivo de difundir estas agrupaciones bibliográficas se facilita el acceso a nuestro catálogo y a propuestas de lectura de publicaciones que puedes consultar en la sala de lectura de nuestra biblioteca.
