The Altamira National Museum and Research Centre makes available to researchers information and on-site access to its collections, archives, and specialised library.
The museum is open to researchers for consultation of materials and facility access from Monday–Friday from 9:30 to 14:30.
In order to consult archaeological and/or documentary resources of the Museum of Altamira, researchers must submit the following:
On receipt of this documentation, the museum will be in touch with the researcher to schedule the visit. So that the request may be properly processed, we recommend that it be sent to us at least ten working days before the anticipated date of the visit.
Access to the museum’s resources is provided with the understanding that such access will not interfere with the normal functioning of services for the visiting public and that resources will be handled appropriately so as to ensure the conservation of cultural assets. Access will be subject to strict compliance with research regulations.
