Foredog composed of two parts: a vertical rod with two hooks ending in a flower, and a now-lost trestle used to hold the logs for the fireplace. Now only the vertical, decorated rod, remains.

Firedogs are portable elements generally found at the sides of the fireplace, and used to hold couldrons over the fire or hold logs. The part protruding outside the fire, the vertical element remaining, usually had complex shapes, like in this example, and were part of the room's decorations.
