Information for researchers

The Carrillo Museum provides researchers access, upon request, to its museographic, documental and bibliographic collections. Requests to consult the collections shall be made in writing outlining the reasons you need to do so either by regular mail addressed to the Museum Director or by email to museo.cerralbo@mcu.es, indicating “Collection enquiries” in the subject line. Once the consultation is authorised, the Museum will ask the applicant to sign and commit to the conditions listed below:

  • The Cerralbo Museum reserves the right to grant or deny authorisations to consult its collections. Therefore, any consultation not pre-authorised is prohibited.
  • The fragility of the collections requires careful handling; gloves must be used when handling materials and only pencils may be used during consultations.
  • Pursuant to Cerralbo Museum rules, any permission for publication requires the citation: "Museo Cerralbo, Madrid".
  • The applicant agrees to deposit at least one copy of his/her publication, if it exists, with the Museum. This copy will become a part of the Library collections. The applicant hereby acknowledges awareness of and agrees to these rules and is liable for any improper use of the documentation or works consulted.
