First Gallery

Galería Primera

The galleries were devised by the Marquis of Cerralbo to imitate those of Italian palaces, to enable his guests to meander while they admired the more important works in his collection. In the first gallery, the pictures of the forefathers and those of the lords of the house mingle with porcelain vases, clocks, divans and panels, and compete with the jewels and artefacts in the central display cabinet.
