fotografía palacio Cerralbo

A palace in the 19th century, a museum in the 20th and an institution in the 21st

The Cerralbo Museum is a state-owned museum managed directly by the Ministry of Culture.

At this palace-museum, visitors can see the rooms and collections of the 17th Marquis of Cerralbo and his family, who lived there from the end of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century.

A tour of the rooms provides us with an insight into what life was like in an aristocratic residence at the turn of the century. Its collections include a wide variety of lamps, mirrors, weapons, textiles, paintings, porcelain objects, furniture, archaeological artefacts and more.

It is located in the district of Argüelles - built as an ensanche, or 19th-century city expansion - close to the Plaza de España, the Temple of Debod, the Royal Palace and the Parque del Oeste.
