Ministry of culture and public bodies attached

The ministry of Culture the proposal and implementation of government policy regarding promotion, protection and dissemination of spain ’ s historical heritage, state museums and the arts, books, reading and creative writing, of cinematography and audiovisual and books and state libraries, as well as the promotion and dissemination of culture in english, the momentum of the actions of cultural cooperation and, in coordination with the ministry of foreign affairs, the european union and the Cooperation of international relations in the field of culture.

The ministry has been extended to those agencies operating in the following: National library of Spain (BNE), Gerencia of infrastructure and equipment of culture, (GEIC), institute of cinematography and Artes Audiovisuales (SERVER), National Institute of the performing arts and music (INAEM), Museo Nacional Centro de Arte Reina Sofia (MNCARS) and the Museo Nacional del Prado (Museo del Prado).
