Museo Sorolla

The Sorolla Museum occupies the same building where the painter Joaquín Sorolla y Bastida (Valencia, 1863-Cercedilla, 1923), worked and lived. It is one of the most complete and best preserved artist houses in Europe where the richest collection of his works, paintings full of colour that radiate light and vitality are guarded.

The museum preserves almost intact the original atmosphere of the house. The garden, also designed by the artist, is a beautiful oasis in the city centre. The ensemble forms a unique space that reveals both the creative intimacy of the Valencian painter and the essence of the time he lived in.
