The National Archaeological Museum exhibits a representative and extensive collection of archaeological and artistic materials reflecting the diversity of peoples and cultures that have inhabited the Iberian Peninsula from prehistoric times to the 19th century. It also exhibits significant objects from great Mediterranean cultures, such as the Egyptians and Greeks. As well as Iberian sculpture, Roman statuary and Visigothic gold and silverwork, the museum’s exceptional numismatic collection deserves special mention.
A place for discovering our past, a space for reflection and understanding of our present from an historical perspective.
