Annual Statistics of the National Archives

As a technical support centre of the Sub-Directorate General of National Archives, CIDA is responsible for the compilation and processing of statistical data provided by the archives and for its availability to achieve a better planning of the archive policy.

It constitutes a source of information required to guarantee transparency, the implementation of active publicity of statistical data and useful for evaluating the level of accomplishment and quality of the public services provided by the Archives.

The resultant instrument is the Annual Statistics of the National Archives , which analyses and interprets statistical data on the activities and services offered by the archives and centres administered by the Ministry of Culture and Sport.

This operation is included in the Cultural Statistics Yearbook , a report prepared by the Sub-Directorate General for Statistics and Studies of the Ministry of Culture and Sports. The information is obtained through a questionnaire, the headings of which are approved by those responsible for the Yearbook.

The elaboration of the Annual Statistics of the National Archives is a compulsory way of rendering accountability to society as a public service within the framework of a quality management policy.
