Reasons and Background

In this section we will explain the reasons that led Spanish America to independence, that is, the main complaints that Americans had towards the lack of political autonomy, lack of free trade and the strong division of the American society in castes.

Also, as one immediate precedent, we will explain the role that Francisco de Miranda played as a precursor of the independence.
