Director’s Statement
I am a great chess fan, and I usually play with some of Arturo Pomar's children, who are my neighbors. The fact of knowing in depth the intimate aspects of the affected family, especially due to the consequences of his father's illness, was the definitive trigger for me to consider the project and propose it as a documentary film. On the other hand, the motivation to bring his story to the screen lies in the fact that the figure of Arturo Pomar has been very little valued, not only for the great person he was, but also for how he contributed to the diffusion of chess in Spain.
