Antonia Santolaya

La Rioja, 1966

She studied fine arts in Madrid, and engraving at Central Saint Martins art school in London. Her most remarkable works as an illustrator are biographies of women such as María Zambrano, Virginia Woolf and Isadora Duncan, all published by Hotel Papel. As a comic author, her most memorable creations are the graphic novel Winnipeg, el barco de Neruda, and the works Feminismo para principiantes and Trastevere-Paradiso. She has also won the Destino Infantil Apel·les Mestres award, got a honourable mention from Norma Ediciones México, and received the best Illustrated Album award from Biblioteca Insular Gran Canaria.
