Royal Decree 1431/2009 of 11 September created the cooperation committee to manage the World Heritage site in response to UNESCO recommendations and for the purpose of strengthening the functions of the Consejo Jacobeo as an entity for cooperation with regard to the management actions concerning the itinerary of the Camino de Santiago inscribed in the list of World Heritage sites. The committee comprises representatives of the Spanish government and the autonomous regions crossed by the Camino Santiago according to the World Heritage list, in other words, the Camino Francés and, as of July 2015, the Caminos del Norte Peninsular (Routes of Northern Spain), which include the Camino Primitivo (Original Way), Camino de la Costa (Coastal Route), Camino Lebaniego (Lebaniego Way) and Camino Interior Vasco-Riojano (Basque Country-Rioja Inland Route).Salto de línea Cooperation committee to manage the World Heritage site comprises:
Director of Cultural Heritage, Department of Culture and Linguistic Policy of the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country.
Director General of Culture and Heritage, Department of Culture, Linguistic Policy and Tourism of the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias.
Director General of Cultural Action or Cultural Heritage and Historical Memory, Department of Universities, Equality, Culture and Sport of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria.
Director General of Culture, Department of Education and Culture of the Autonomous Community of La Rioja.
