2004 Jacobean Year

In order to commemorate the 2004 Jacobean Year, the Consejo Jacobeo approved a plan for cultural stimulus that included artistic, cultural and sporting activities in addition to actions involving research and infrastructure improvement.

Likewise, the Consejo Jacobeo approved a plan for tourism stimulus and visitor reception.

The 2010 Jacobean Year was considered an event of exceptional public interest in terms of applying tax benefits. This encouraged private sector participation in the event and greater publicity for the event was achieved.
